Student Tour VTE, a carbon neutral companyFollowing Planetair’s calculations, Student Tour VTE has bought offsets to neutralize the ecological footprints caused by the commuting of its employees, for example, or the use of paper. Based upon those calculations, Student Tour VTE has compensated for 48.5 tons of carbon emissions.
But how can those offsets compensate for pollution and the creation of greenhouse gases?
Planetair finances projects which results are real and measurable. For example, in Madagascar, a community drew its energy from wood combustion and diesel generators. Planetair decided to finance the erection of the first Malagasy windmill park thus reducing pollution, diesel consumption, deforestation and the vulnerability of the community in regards to diesel price fluctuations while creating local jobs.
Student Tour VTE offers you the possibility to buy offsets in order to reduce the environmental impact of your trip
Planetair will make the calculations for you. For example, a Montréal-New York round-trip, in a 55-seater motorcoach generates around 3.32 tons of CO2. To become carbon neutral, all you have to do is buy the equivalent in offsets, which in this case would mean approximately $144/bus. Ask your tour consultant!
