Provence and French Riviera 10 days/8 nights

DAY 1  


Flight towards Nice.  

 

DAY 2 

 Arrival in Nice and transfer to your accommodation uptown – luggage drop-off. 

Lunch on your own.

PM: Stroll along the “Promenade des Anglais” and unguided tour of the downtown and Old Nice areas. We also suggest visiting the Chagall or Matisse museums. 

Dinner and night in NICE.   

DAY 3

Breakfast. 

AM: Departure in motor coach for GRASSE; visit of the Fragonard Museum, famous perfume museum.

Lunch on your own. 

PM: Continue on towards ST-PAUL-DE-VENCE. If the battlements, towers, chapels and spires punctuate the architecture of the village, other secrets remain well hidden at the heart of small alleys. We offer you the opportunity to discover them during a guided tour. 

Dinner and night in NICE.  

DAY 4  

Breakfast. 


After breakfast, meet with your driver and transfer to MONACO.

Take a rock, at Provence’s extreme east, a city on the edge of the Mediterranean and you arrive in seduction land, Monaco, sought after holiday spot but also growing financial and industrial center. The Grimaldi dynasty, sovereign since 700 years, has succeeded in promoting this territory, small at start, and made it prosper. Unguided tour of the city, the old Monaco, the Prince’s Palace, the Casino…

Lunch on your own. 

On the way back, stop at EZE.

 

EZE is an eagle’s nest perched on a rock. It is a magical location on the French Riviera. This village seduces many a visitor. The atmosphere is authentic and Eze has kept its traditions, even if, today, it has become a world-renowned holiday resort where many celebrities love to go.

DAY 5

  

 

 

Breakfast


Departure in motorcoach for CANNES where you will buy your lunch before embarking for the Lérins Islands and especially SAINTE MARGUERITE Island.

A fun 15-minute crossing aboard the Nautilus will let you observe the sea-bed. On the menu of your stopover: walks through the pine and eucalyptus forest, visit of the Vauban Fort erected in the XVIIth century…

Lunch on your own.

Discovery of the Museum of the Sea and of the Iron Mask Prison. And, if the temperature is mild, you will also be able to swim in of the island’s coves. 

Dinner and night in NICE.  

 

DAY 6

 

 

Breakfast. 

AM: Meet with your motor coach and leave towards Provence. Unguided discovery of AIX-EN-PROVENCE.

College town with shadowy avenues and majestic fountain-ornamented plazas. As a matter of fact, Aix is called the city of a thousand fountains and it is on the Place des 4 Dauphins and on the Cours Mirabeau that one can see some of the most beautiful ones
.  

 

Lunch on your own.

PM: After lunch, tour of a “calissons” bakery, traditional sweet of the city.  

Departure around 3 P.M. Along the way, visit of the impressive Château des Baux.   

Dinner and night in NÎMES.  

DAY 7 



Breakfast


AM: Excursion to the south of Nîmes, in an olive grove. Visit of the domain where you will receive explanations about the growing of the olive tree, the making of the olive oil and of the other products derived from the olive and that are made here.

Return to Nîmes at the end of the evening.


Lunch on your own

PM: After lunch, visit of NÎMES with the help of the new “Pass Nîmes Romaine” which give access to the arenas, to the Maison Carrée (new sound and light show) and to the Magne Tower. Nîmes is more than two thousand years old, two thousand years of history, architecture, art and passion. 

Dinner and night in NÎMES.  

DAY 8  

Breakfast. 

AM: Departure towards the Pont du Gard, one of the Gallo-Roman period’s most significant remains (access to the Bridge is free – a new exhibition building has opened its doors a few years past – entrance fee to be paid on site for the ones interested). 

Continuation towards AVIGNON. 

Lunch on your own.  

PM: Guided tour of the Palais des Papes and unguided tour of the Benezet Bridge.
Then, road towards CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE. Visit of a wine cellar and return to Nîmes in late afternoon. 

Dinner and night in NÎMES.  

DAY 9 



Breakfast.

AM: Motor coach transfer for Marseille.  

Lunch on your own.

PM: Afternoon in Marseille at your disposal to tour and shop at your leisure. 

Dinner and night in Marseille.  

DAY 10 

Breakfast


Motor coach transfer towards the Marseille airport.
